Suillus Gray

Sporophores boletoid with yellow or orange tubes. Cap glutinous or viscous, rarely almost dry, smooth or tomentose. Stipe full or hollow, with or without annular zone. Hymenophore with yellow to olive-brown tubes and pores, often exuding whitish droplets when fresh. Spore print olive-yellow to brown. Spores elongated, subfusiform, honey-coloured to brown, -15 µm long. Cystidia fasciculate. Clamp connections usually absent.

 

Genus with ectomycorrhizal species on conifers.
