Macroscopie – Isolé. Chapeau 15-25 cm diam., épais, d’abord hémisphérique-convexe puis étalé à centre largement et bassement mamelonné; revêtement séparable, brunâtre puis crème-brunâtre, à petites squamules ponctiformes brunes, denses au sommet, éparses à la périphérie. Pied 18-23 ´ 3-4 cm, très vigoureux, légèrement épaissi vers la base ou cylindrique à base légèrement renflée, plein puis fistuleux, crème brunâtre, lisse; cordons mycéliens blancs fréquents à la base; anneau membraneux, ample, assez fragile, blanchâtre. Lamelles libres, assez étroites, serrées, atténuées à la marge, rose puis brun rosé, finalement brun pourpre foncé et humides à maturité. Chair ferme, blanche, se teintant de crème brunâtre à la coupe. Odeur benzoïlée. Goût prononcé d’amande. Sporée brune.

Microscopie – Cheilocystides globuleuses ou courtement piriformes. Spores lisses, brun rougeâtre foncé, ellipsoïdes ou ovales, 8,3-10(-10,8) ´ 5,1-5,7 µm. Anses d'anastomose absentes.

Ecologie – Saprotrophe, sur le sol; stations rudéralisées, plantation d’Elaeis.

Macroscopy  Isolated. Cap 15-25 cm diam., thick, first hemispherical-convex, then spreading out with broad, low mameloid centre; pileipellis separable, brownish then cream-brownish, with small brown, dense, ponctiform squamules at the top, scattered at the periphery. Stipe 18-23 ´ 3-4 cm, very vigorous, slightly thickened towards the base or cylindrical with a slightly swollen base, solid then fistulous, brownish cream, smooth; frequent white mycelial cords at the base; ring membranous, broad, fairly fragile, whitish. Lamellae free, fairly narrow, tight, attenuated at the margin, pink then pinkish brown, finally dark purplish brown and moist at maturity. Flesh firm, white, turning brownish creamy when cut. Odour benzol -like. Taste strong almond. Spore print brownish.

Microscopy  Cheilocystidia globulous or shortly piriform. Spores smooth, dark reddish brown, ellipsoid or oval, 8.3-10(-10.8) ´ 5.1-5.7 µm. Clamp connections absent.

Ecology  Saprotrophic, on soil; ruderalized stations, plantations of Elaeis.
